The story of Windspiel Manufaktur is that of a simple vision from Sandra Wimmeler and Denis Lönnendonker, their enthusiasm for potatoes and their passion for a good Gin. So, why not combine these two passions and make a gin from potatoes instead of the usual wheat? And not just any potato, but those with a unique taste grown in the Vulkaneifel region in the Rhineland where the Windspiel founders are at home.
The result is a mild, down-to-earth, classic London Dry Gin concentrated on the essentials - a gin for connoisseurs!

Every detail is a matter of our heart
They found an experienced master distiller who was willing to take on this adventure. Through a special process, three distillations and high-quality botanicals, the Windspiel Gin gets its fine mildness while still retaining the light potato flavour.
At Windspiel, every detail is close to their hearts, from the production to the design. Values such as sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources are a part of their DNA. Windspiel is one of the few manufacturers who produce the basic alcohol themselves, bottle the gin completely by hand using natural corks, and label it by hand with natural paper. As a special characteristic, the neck of the bottle is adorned with a golden ring, connected with a cord on which a little flag can be found with the note: "True to the potato decree of Fridericus Rex".
THE HISTORY OF THE WINDSPIELS
The name Windspiel goes back to Frederick the Great and his Potato Decree of 1746, which gave his homeland one of the best natural products in the world - the potato. His second great passion was for greyhounds, and the symbiosis of these two passions was the inspiration for the naming of the manufactory. In his honour, they distil their incomparably mild products from potatoes ripened in the volcanic soil of the Eifel region.
As already mentioned, it was Frederick the Great and his potato decree in the past.
Today it is us, the Windspiel Manufaktur!
Since its founding in 2014, Windspiel Manufaktur has won more than 30 awards for quality, design and brand management at renowned national and international competitions. These include four gold awards at the World Spirits Award as "National Gin of the Year", the Meiningers International Spirits Award ISW, the German Design Award, the German Brand Award in the category "Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation", the Red Dot Design Award and the if Design Award.
