Preserving the authenticity and originality of Absinthe is very important to us. For this reason, our Absinthes are made from 100% natural ingredients in sustainable processes and only by hand. We have always distilled Absinthe according to old family traditions and Belle Epoque recipes.
Almost exclusively local herbs from the Val-de-Travers are used, which are distilled traditionally in small alembics. Doing everything by hand is still as demanding today as in older times and our enthusiasm and love for Absinthes remain just as strong.

"GENTLEMEN. IT’S TIME!"
This was said on 7th October 1910, when the prohibition of Absinthe came into force in Switzerland. This deprived the small Val-de-Travers in the Swiss Jura region of the product that had become world famous as fuel for poets and thinkers of the European "fin de siècle".
While artists and creatives praised pure Absinthe as an inspiring muse and "green fairy" to heaven, cheap copies, adulterated with chemicals and industrial alcohol, had turned it into the dangerous mass drug which was then banned. But in secret, traditional production of the original Absinthe lived on in its home valley. And only this authentic Absinthe, from the now legal small private distilleries, is offered by the "SWISS CRAFT DISTILLERS - ABSINTHE DISTRIBUTION".

From the very beginning, in addition to the usual bar offer, we have mainly focused on Absinthe, which is served here only with the traditional drinking rituals and the elegant accessories from the time of Art Nouveau, the heyday of the Absinthe cult in Paris. Our Absinthe range has now grown from an initial 11 varieties to over 40 varieties. They are all of the highest quality and come from small distilleries in the Swiss Val-de-Travers - the home of the green fairy.
