OUR HISTORY
60 kilometers south of Berlin stretches the floodplain landscape of the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. The lowlands with their unique microclimate and the surrounding rye fields offer the best conditions for the production of rye whiskey. The STORK CLUB whiskey distillery, founded in 2004, is located here.
Our goal is to become a completely climate-neutral company by 2024, because nature is of great importance to us. It provides us with all the quality raw materials we need for our distinctive STORK CLUB Rye Whiskey.

BASTIAN, STEFFEN & SEBASTIAN
Behind STORK CLUB are three people who are not entirely unknown in the spirits industry. On the one hand, there is Steffen Lohr. The former bartender (including "Der Raum", Melbourne) worked for years as a brand ambassador for Bacardi before setting up his own agency "Small Big Brands" with Bastian Heuser and Sebastian Brack. Sebastian Brack, in turn, invented the successful bitter lemonade brand "Thomas Henry" and is co-founder of "Belsazar" Vermouth. The third member of the group is Bastian Heuser - also a former bartender and one of the co-founders of "Bar Convent Berlin," the leading European trade show for the bar and beverage industry.
FROM GRAIN TO BOTTLE
The basis of our whiskeys is German rye from the surrounding fields. We obtain this rye from agricultural cooperatives and cooperatives of regional farmers. This makes sense, because Brandenburg is Europe's largest rye-growing region and is known worldwide for its quality. Even well-known American rye whiskey producers buy their rye here in Brandenburg!
Since 2004, award-winning whiskeys of the highest quality have been distilled and matured at the STORK CLUB distillery 60 km south of Berlin. In 2010, our whiskey won its first international award from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible with 94 points. In 2019, STORK CLUB Rye Whiskey was awarded the distinction of "World's Best Rye Whisky" at the World Whiskies Awards. We make our whiskey in a very traditional and artisanal way. And yet we love to break with conventions. And this is why are we Germany's first pure rye whiskey distillery!
We went looking for a whisky cask but came home with the whole distillery.
